Julia Nunes has recorded four albums using her real name, but to her legions of devoted fans spread across the Internet, she’s best known as jaaaaaaa. That’s the name of her account on YouTube, where she’s posted 81 videos that have gotten some 47 million views.

The videos mostly show Nunes looking into her Web cam, holding a ukulele, and singing covers from pop artists ranging from Nat King Cole to Queen, interspersed with cuts from overdubbed harmony parts and occasional humorous asides. Her Internet celebrity earned her an indie record deal, national tours, and bookings at Bonnaroo. Spend a few minutes on her YouTube page and its not hard to see why: Nunes is unpretentious, talented, and relentlessly charming.

“I Think You Know” is an original off a 2009 EP of the same name. The studio version (which you can download above) is nice and polished, but it's worth hearing the YouTube version (below), to see Nunes really shine.
