Fans of Dan Pratt have been waiting six years to hear a new recording from the Brooklyn-based saxophonist, and tonight they'll get a taste of some of his new material at a CD pre-release show for his forthcoming album Toe the Line (out March 30). The record contains eight original compositions from the accomplished composer and performer, who bassist Christian McBride called "the complete package." On this live version of one of the original pieces, Pratt leads his quartet on a playful and sophisticated tune with upbeat dexterity.
