“Hole In Your Halo”
Playing Wednesday at The Living Room
(154 Ludlow St., Lower East Side)
Get: Tickets | Directions

Folk singer and songwriter Ana Egge brings new meaning to the words "do it yourself." Playing the guitar she crafted by hand at age 17, Egge brings her delicate, earnest sensibility to music that is recognizably personal. Her seventh album, Bad Blood, is a series of songs that look at mental illness.

"Hole In Your Halo," a song about the frustrations of dealing with the dark sides of mental illness, begins with a voice and an acoustic guitar before swelling into a chorus cross-hatched with a heartfelt fiddle and plenty of feeling. Download her song above or check out Egge for yourself at The Living Room on Wednesday night.
