Philadelphia indie rock outfit The War On Drugs has a penchant for washing folk rock in waves of dense, hypnotic synth and atmospherics until it dissolves in the ambient drone.

Formed in 2005, the quartet with the Google-resistant moniker cites Bob Dylan as a major influence on its sound, though comparisons to Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen have also been made.

Download The War On Drugs’ soaring "Come To The City," from the group's newest record, Slave Ambient, which was released in August. Or watch the video for the song below.

The War On Drugs performs with The National at the Beacon Theatre Monday night.
