The pitch-perfect shoegaze of Queens-based duo For Every Story Untold strikes just the right balance between the gentle lilts of singer songwriter Lauren Edman and the muscular guitar riffs and hazy atmospherics of multi-instrumentalist songwriter Brian Caesar.

Caesar and Edman formed the band in 2009 after bonding over their mutual love for “epic songs and soaring melodies” and promptly got to work on some of their own compositions -- starting with “Hideout,” the titular track off the group's 2010 debut EP.

Download “Hideout” above and watch the whimsical slideshow titled “Making of the Hideout EP,” featuring the band's song “I Am The Wolf That Bit Me," below.

For Every Story Untold performs at Mercury Lounge on Monday night.

Very promising band. I've been aware of Lauren Edman's excellent work for quite a while. She was on the Sleepthief project, guested with Delta-s and has written and performed a lot of superb songs. There's a lot of talent inside this band.
