Over the past decade, Balkan -- by way of Brooklyn -- brass outfit Slavic Soul Party! has become one of the city’s most recognizable groups for Eastern European-inspired dance music.

The nine-piece’s brassy bounce travels beyond its namesake region, incorporating New Orleans jazz, funk, klezmer and more -- drawing sonic inspiration from its cosmopolitan home-turf for its spirited tunes.

Download “Laughter Club,” from Slavic Soul Party’s fifth album, Taketron (above) and watch the Soundcheck performance of song “Baltica,” which is also on the group's 2009 LP (below).

Slavic Soul Party! performs every Tuesday night at Barbes.
