Classical violinist Jennifer Koh is recognized as being an audacious performer who takes on Bach, Glass and others with tenacity and buoyancy. As part of Carnegie Hall’s American Mavericks series, she will pay homage to composer John Adams.

Download Koh’s performance of “Relaxed Groove,” the first movement of Adams’s work “Road Movies,” above. In the video below, Koh exuberantly dives into a minutelong performance of Bach.

We should all be grateful that here in New York such an extraordinary musician is doing so much to spotlight American composers. I highly recommend that everyone go hear Koh. She is a very rare talent, no matter what the repertoire.
