Singer/songwriter Dar Williams’ first new album in four years is called In the Time of Gods, and on it she addresses some of today’s most pressing social issues through the imagery of ancient Greek mythology.  The album comes out next week - but we’ll get a preview today when she plays live.

Ms. Williams was correct according to World Book Encyclopedia online. Hera, was a goddess of life in Greek mythology. She was especially a protector of marriage and CHILDBIRTH.

I have just listened to Dar singing live on Wnyc 'Soundcheck' programme and I was listening in Bristol UK. I was made aware of this interview and live session by a friend of mine and managed to get to the station well in time. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Dar sing three of the songs from her new album and will be buying it. Dar's albums are always interesting as she tends to do a different slant on topics from some other singer-songwriters which I always enjoy.Hope Dar will tour the UK sometime this year as each time I see her I thoroughly enjoy the show she puts on. Thanks to Wnyc for promotng her and her new album.
