Kaki King: Guitar Hero

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Musician and composer Kaki King creates rich sound textures with her six-string skills – so well, in fact, that Rolling Stone placed her on their list of “The New Guitar Gods” a few years back. After releasing her latest album, “Junior,” in 2010, she toured as a solo musician (taking along some rare instruments for company, including a harp guitar and a hybrid guitar-koto) and contributed music to films like “Twilight” and Sean Penn’s “Into the Wild.” Her most recent project is a score for silent film star Buster Keaton’s 1920 movie “The Scarecrow,” which debuted in January.
