Abraham Inc: In Studio

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

A Canadian DJ, a klezmer clarinetist, and James Brown’s trombonist walk into a bar… and what sounds like the beginning of a bad joke turns into Abraham Inc, a high-octane blend of klezmer, hip hop and funk. DJ Socalled, David Krakauer, Fred Wesley and their band join us for a live performance.

Fred Wesley! I was listening thinking man trombone sounds like Fred Wesley and sure enough it was. No one blows a funkier trombone than Fred Wesley.

how come there is never any kind of Metal bands on here? Jon, you've discussed pop, rap, local obscure ethnic bands and worst of all - hipster bands from brooklyn. Metal has a lot of sub genres and a worldwide fan base. this show is getting old. Ah, at least we still have New Sounds.
