Justin Townes Earle and the PRESTO direct-to-disc recorder
Give your iPod that scratchy sound! Download an MP3 of Justin Townes Earle's "Memphis in the Rain," as recorded by The 78 Project on a genuine Presto 78 rpm disc recorder from the 1930s. Watch the video (in hi-fi) below.
Just saw this most charming of all videos. Nuts and bolts and rhythm and blues and a soupcon of sweep-sweep. Low-key and totally impressive. Just real life, real talent, dedication and real music there in the studio. Can't ask for anything more.
What a wonderful time I had last night at Webster Hall.. first time seeing Justin live. Great show. thanxMark
What a wonderful sound and a really interesting and timely project.
