"Once": In Studio

Friday, May 25, 2012

In 2006, the low-budget indie film “Once” – starring The Frames lead singer Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova – was a surprise success, even picking up the Oscar in 2007 for Best Original Song. Now, the film has been adapted for Broadway - and once again, it’s a hit. The show received 11 Tony nominations earlier this month, and today, we’re joined by some of the cast for a live performance.

Awesome! Caught it a few weeks ago on a mild Friday night. Blown away. Cristin Milioti nailed the girl's humor. And without walking the vacuum cleaner by the cord across Dublin.

You can expect them both to have one year contracts which puts them in the show until at least next March or April -- assuming the show lasts that long. I certainly hope it does. I saw it once off b'way and once on -- I thought it was MAGICAL.

I am so keen to see this show, and I know the tickets must really be selling like crazy since the Tony nominations.

For how much longer will the two actors playing the male and female lead roles be in the show?

Congrats to all of you on the nominations - looking forward to see you soon!
