Brazilian singer and multi-instrumentalist Curumin makes funky mid-tempo pop that plucks from samba, tropicalia, reggae and quirky electronic sampling.

Get familiar with the São Paulo native’s tunes by watching him perform “Samba Japa” from his 2005 debut LP Achados E Perdidos in this video. Then listen to him on Soundcheck in 2008 and download “Selvage,” the lead single off Curumin’s new album, Arrocha.

Curumin performs with fellow Brazilian singer Céu at the Highline Ballroom on Sunday night.
