The rollicking, funked-out jazz of Rebirth Brass Band has become a New Orleans institution since brothers Phil and Keith Frazier and fellow musician Kermit Ruffins founded the group in 1983.

The name of the group’s latest LP, Rebirth of New Orleans, takes on a nuanced meaning in the post-Hurricane Katrina era. The triumphant grooves on songs like “Do It Again” suggest that not only has Crescent City weathered the storm but one of its beloved brass bands is leading the victory laps.

Download "Do It Again" above and check out a video of the Rebirth Brass Band performing “I Like It Like That” on Soundcheck in April 2011.

The Rebirth Brass Band hits the Beekman Beer Garden on Wednesday night.
