The Brooklyn chamber-pop outfit Clare and The Reasons desired a change of scenery for its new album. The band — led by co-songwriters and married couple Clare (vocals) and Olivier Manchon with guitarist Bob Hart — relocated to Berlin for the better part of 2011 to compose and record what would become KR-51, the group’s third studio release since forming in 2005.
The 11-track release is named after the moped model the group used to sweep through the straben of the German capital for inspiration. It features luxe arrangements performed by members of the Orchestre de Paris and is said to be moodier than the band’s past efforts.
