Laid-back and lo-fi, the music of Real Estate has been described as "psychedelic surf pop." The sound of the indie rock foursome is summery indeed, but not altogether blithe. On "Dumb Luck," the vocals of lead singer Martin Courtney add a wistfulness to the easygoing melody that temper the surf-inspired guitar.
