This month marks the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, the 1962 classic Dr. No starring Sean Connery. The super spy -- first created by novelist Ian Fleming -- is being celebrated with a DVD box set, a documentary, and a film festival at the Museum of Modern Art.

But more importantly, there's a new Bond movie coming out on Nov. 9, called Skyfall. Naturally, no new Bond movie would be complete without a new theme song for the opening credits. And this time around it's by the British superstar Adele.

We invited Studio 360 host Kurt Andersen (whose new novel True Believers takes inspiration from Bond) to have a listen and see how it holds up against some of the Bond songs of yore -- including those by Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney and Jack White.

Do you have a favorite Bond movie theme song? Tell us below!

You Only Live Twice is a wonderful song. Lush and melancholy. My current favorite.
