Halloween is upon us today. But with so many people without power across the East Coast and with so much left to do in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, it's likely that many trick-or-treating or Halloween party plans have been scrapped. And even for those lucky enough to still have electricity, a lack of transportation and lingering flooding have got people cooped up in their homes with little to do tonight.

But if you're still looking for a way to celebrate at home, we've got a little virtual Halloween party of our own.

Join us for another "Parallel Play," in which we all listen to the same record at the same time. Tonight we'll be listening to and chatting about Michael Jackson's universally beloved pop hit Thriller.

So put on your pasty zombie makeup, your werewolf masks, and your amazing red leather jacket and come here to the Soundcheck blog TONIGHT at 7PM ET and join John Schaefer and music writer Maura Johnston in the chatroom while we all dance and lurch along to Thriller.

And if you're not one of the 65-to-100 million people who own a copy of this ubiquitous record, you can listen to it on Spotify here:

Michael Jackson rest in peace! We love and miss you, the greatest, and not just for Thriller, lest we forget!
