SHOW: Tuesday at Jazz Standard ($25 | 7:30 show & 9:30 show)

For Luciana Souza, bossa nova runs in the family. Her father was a well-known singer and guitarist in Brazil, but Luciana herself is known for her versatile voice, and her songwriting chops. She’s gotten six Grammy nominations and collaborated with jazzman Herbie Hancock among many others.

However, Souza's latest project errs on the simple side of things. It's a series of duos, and in the case of today's download, the duo is with renowned guitarist Romero Lubambo. The duo's skill at their respective positions makes this a delightful slice of bossa nova basics.

Download the track "Tim Tim Por Tim Tim" above, and watch a video of Luciana Souza performing with pianist Fred Hersch in the video below. Luciana Souza plays with Romero Lubambo at Jazz Standard Tuesday night.
