SHOW: Tuesday at SubCulture ($15)

The New York-based percussionist and composer Samuel Torres was born in Colombia, into a family of musicians. It's no surprise, then, that the music of South America has shaped and influenced his award-winning sound. But trip to West Africa a few years back was the inspiration for his latest release, "Yaoundé."
