Mike Bones
"What I Have Left"
Playing at: Union Pool
(484 Union Ave., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets ($8 at door) | Directions

Known as a go to guitarist among musicians in New York's indie scene, songwriter Mike Strallow became Mike Bones when he advanced from being a sideman to a solo artist with his 2007 debut album. Last year the singer-songwriter returned with more of his cerebral take on folky guitar pop with his sophomore effort A Fool for Everyone. Contemplative and heartbreaking, "What I Have Left" burns with bittersweet reflection as Strallow broodily sings about failed love.
