Vinicio Capossela is the Italian equivalent of Tom Waits, but his live shows come with scary masks and costumes. He joins us to talk about his new album, which includes collaborators like producer JD Foster (Tom Waits/Calexico) and composer Anthony Coleman.

Vinicio Capossela will be performing at Highline Ballroom on Jul. 2 at 9 p.m.

One last shameless plug for a friend in the Italian music scene:
Vinicio if you are interested in listening to his music and maybe getting in contact with him, you can do all of that here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=25169318

Vinicio, I used to live in Firenze and a good friend of mine still lives there. His name is Christopher Wyatt Scott. I think the two of you would have great fun together if you ever met and or performed together.

PS- I can't wait to listen to the rest of your album.

The Italian equivalent of Tom Waits? Are you're it's not old Tom just singing in Italian?
