The State of the Music Video

Wednesday, June 10, 2009 - 09:51 AM

As we broadcast live on June 11 from the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, we look at the art of music videos -- and where videos are headed. Our guests include Rik Cordero, who has directed videos from Jay-Z, Nas, Q-Tip, John Legend and others, and Idolator.com editor Maura Johnston. (Think you know how to make a video? Enter the Soundcheck Music Video Contest, starring the Fiery Furnaces!)

Below, you'll find several videos that we'll discuss on the show. Tell us: What's your favorite new video? Why?

Q-Tip - "ManWomanBoogie" (from The Renaissance)

The Roots featuring Sasha Grey and Patrick Stump - "Birthday Girl" (bonus track from Rising Down)

Eminem – "3 AM" (from Relapse)

Ok Go – "Here it Goes Again" (from Oh No)

Ida Maria - "Oh My God" (from Fortress Round My Heart)

Beyonce - "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (from I Am… Sasha Fierce)
