Pat Grossi, the man behind the soaring electro-pop of Active Child, grew up being exposed to two very different musical worlds: choral music and hip-hop. Grossi sang in the Philadelphia Boy's Choir while  inheriting West Coast rap albums from his father, who worked for the hip-hop label Priority Records.  Grossi's debut EP Curtis Lane exhibits hallmarks of both musical genres. "When Your Love Is Safe" lolls with a chilled-out, head-bobbing groove (perfect for a cruise in a lowrider) while Grossi sings in a heavenly falsetto.
