Back in the early 1980s, the members of the New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band made a name for themselves by blending the second line sound with funk and jazz. More than two decades after they released their first album, the septet is still known for its charismatic brand of brass fusion, and the group has also influenced a number of genre-bending brass bands that have followed in their footsteps. On this title track from DDBB's recently remastered, 25th anniversary version of their debut album My Feet Can't Fail Me Now, the band shows off their chops with this spare, spirited, funked-up tune from their early days.
