A Bonus Track from Blitz the Ambassador

Friday, June 18, 2010

Today’s Soundcheck featured a great live set from Ghanaian-born rapper Blitz the Ambassador and his band, the Embassy Ensemble. We ran out of time to include their third song in the live broadcast, but the guys were kind enough to stick around and record it off the air. We've posted it here as web exclusive.

The song is called “Dear Africa,” and features Blitz playing the koshka (an African hand-percussion instrument) with both hands while he raps. Check out Blitz’s “Koshka Sessions” below to see this feat of hand-mouth coordination in action.
