Pablo Díaz-Reixa, who records as El Guincho, emerged as Spain's answer to Animal Collective in 2008 with the release of his album Alegranza. Inspired by world sounds as diverse as Afropop and Spanish folk, Díaz-Reixa uses samples of his favorite tunes to create warm, trippy pastiches to back his playful Spanish vocals. On this track the producer/singer jams to a frolicsome tune rooted by buoyant rhythm and a looped sunny chorus. Tonight's performance is part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference happening across the city this week.
