Jazz pianist and composer Frank Carlberg often finds the inspiration for his pieces in poetry, as heard in this work, which features the words of late poet Robert Creeley. Complex and playful, "Heaven" whirls with an avant-gardist show tune kind of energy. Tonight, Carlberg teams up with fellow composer Nicholas Urie to co-lead a large ensemble.
