When Gotan Project released La revancha del tango in 2001, the group became one of the first bands to take a “folkloric” music style and mash it up with electronic dance music in a way which actually worked. The band combined the instruments of Argentine tango—the accordion-like bandoneon, violin, guitar, and piano—played live, and mixed them with beats from the Paris electronica scene. Now releasing the band's third album, Tango 3.0, Gotan may be a little dated, but they’re still pumping out a quality product. This single, “La Gloria,” updates the band's classic tango-trip-hop with a dirty dance floor bass line.
