In Studio: Sharon Van Etten

Tuesday, October 05, 2010

Sharon Van Etten has one of those voices: full, a little rough around the edges, never earnest – the sort that sends a hush through a noisy, crowded bar.

Her new album is called Epic – which is misleading, since it’s actually full of intimate close-ups. The Brooklyn singer-songwriter joins us to play live in the Soundcheck studio.

Today's Playlist:

1. "Peace Signs" - Sharon Van Etten

2. Live Performance "Save Yourself"

3. Live Peformance "One Day"

4. "Love More"

I don't know what this guy is talking about. The album is totally epic.

What Mark said. I'd add that, based on the interview, she has a wonderful sense of humor. I also loved Fleetwood Mac as a kid, thanks to my mother, who never turned off the radio.

Just downloaded "epic" from eMusic.

I love her voice. Very unique, very pretty. Never heard of her before. Thanks for having her on the show.
