Stew and Heidi were once a Tony-nominated, rock-and-roll musical writing powerhouse of a couple. In 2008, the duo achieved a Broadway run for Passing Strange, a semi-autobiographical piece of musical theater about a young black man who leaves South Central L.A. to discover Amsterdam and Berlin. This track, "Love Like That," comes from that production. Since then, the two have broken up, but that hasn’t stopped them from writing together (they even made a musical about their break up called Making It). Now, through Friday, they’ll present a song cycle at B.A.M. called Brooklyn Omnibus, songs about life in Brooklyn set to a pop-rock soundtrack. The foreseeable problem: the duo is from Southern California.
