Pentatonix: A Cappella Reaching For The Top Of The Charts

Reality singing competitions have created their share of pop stars over the years -- and one of the newest additions to the club is Pentatonix. The Texas-based a cappella group won NBC's The Sing-Off back in 2011, scoring $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony. Since then, they've put out two full length albums (PTX Vol. I and II) and a Christmas EP, and racked up hundreds of millions of YouTube views.

The group stops by our studio to share a couple of originals and a few of their famous pop covers, and to talk about their skyrocketing pop career.

Watch Pentatonix perform the Christmas standard "Angels We Have Heard On High" recorded live in the Soundcheck studio.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet (maybe because it is a really good article and interview and we're all just bypassing it lol) but they actually have one full-length album (PTXChristmas) and 2 EPs (PTX Vol I and II).

Wow I just love this interviewer, not only is his voice perfect for radio but he has done his research and is educated and interested. Very well done! Also, of course, Pentatonix were great as always! Nice to see Mitch talk about the LGBT community as well as they barely get the chance to touch on that important topic.

Amazing! the fact that you are doing 2-hour live shows day after day with just your voices and bodies. Hope you don't overtax your voices so much with that many shows. As a fan, really appreciate that your coming to see us.
