For a certain type of person who grew up in 1970's, today's been a difficult day of truth: The Captain & Tenille -- the kitschy pop duo best known for hits like "Muskrat Love" and "Love Will Keep Us Together" -- are getting divorced.

(Really, if they can't make it work, what hope do the rest of us have?) Others, paralyzed with sadness, seem to only find solace and peace of mind in the healing power of laughter, simply jumping on some iteration on the same exact tired joke -- "I guess love won't keep them together" -- reading like an echo chamber of clever-by-half puns.

No love didn't keep them together it probably was the love of money nobody is as lovey dovey as they are when one partner is shy and the other one lively it was a put on act to keep their listeners happy to bad I was more involved in raising 4 children and working I never really listened to any of their songs until the last few years and all of the songs were about my life if the captain would stop seeing a fortune teller named domin he probably wouldn't have anything to make a song out of to make any money he and she are both dead heads with no personalities
